Filter, Sort, and Compare Product Information

You can use the power of Filter, Sort, and Compare options to quickly target your review of product and service information. Limit or re-sequence listing entries to pinpoint items by a number of product attributes, including supplier, price, category and others.

Overview

Marketplace offers you the opportunity to filter, sort, and compare items to expedite your review and selection. These features are available in all views: Grid, List, and Matrix. 

Filter Product or Service Information

Standard and Additional Filters

Filters listed above Product or Service details allow you to limit the listing to specific product detail types.

• Available filters may be configured specifically for your site and role.
• Standard Filter options can include Category, Supplier, Price, and Manufacturer Name.  
• Preferred Product Filter displays when results include Preferred Products. 
• Additional Filters also display for the attributes that listed products have in common. The most frequently  occurring filters are shown first. 
• You can use one filter or a combination of any to target entries in the list of items.

Add Filter to Select Additional Available Filters

When displayed products offer more than 8 available attributes for use in filters, the additional filters are accessed through the Add Filters box. 

Use Filter to Limit Displayed Items

To use Filter to limit results:

• Click on the + sign next to a filter name.
• Category – Select a category.
• Supplier – Select one or more suppliers, using Show More to expand the list of supplier names.
• Price – Enter minimum and maximum price and click on Apply.
• Manufacturer Name – Choose from the available names in the drop down. 
• Choose additional filters as needed. 
• Each filter will limit the results as it is selected.

Active filters display after the Selected Filters: heading underneath the navigation string.

• To clear a filter, click on the x to the right of the filter name. 

Sort Product or Service Information

Sorting allows you to change the display sequence of items to speed review and selection.

Sorting options for site, supplier, and category may be configured specifically for you, and can include alphabetic sorting by name, price, manufacturer, part number, and other product attributes. 

Click on the Sort By drop down.

• Choose an option from the list.
• Search results will redisplay in the new sort order.

Compare Product or Service Information

Marketplace allows you to select up to three items to review and compare in a side-by-side table view. 

To compare product or service details:

Click on the Compare checkbox above the item name for up to 3 items.

Click on Compare X items shown above the filters

The items will be listed side by side with key information displayed for easy comparison.
